Skywatch

Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2026.

This policy explains what Skywatch collects when you use the site, and what we do with it.

What we collect

Skywatch does not perform any geolocation on page load. When you press the "Show weather where I am" button, we perform a one-time IP-based lookup to estimate your approximate city, and we do not store the result on our servers.

Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, referring page, pages visited) are recorded by our hosting provider for security and diagnostic purposes and are retained for a limited period.

Cookies and third parties

Skywatch itself sets no first-party cookies. Third-party services embedded on this site — advertising networks, weather API, geolocation lookup — may set cookies or use similar technologies. These are governed by those services' own privacy policies:

Advertising

This site is supported by advertising. Our advertising partners may collect information about your visits to this and other websites in order to serve advertising that is more relevant to you. To learn more or opt out for participating companies, visit aboutads.info/choices.

Children

Skywatch is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your choices

You can use Skywatch entirely without any location lookup — simply pick your city from the search field or the popular-cities grid instead of pressing the "Show weather where I am" button.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
